 Job Purpose:

The purpose of Energy management is the strategic evaluation of energy use. Energy management is concerned with planning for energy efficiency. It may involve the energy usage of machinery, equipment, buildings, other physical structures, or processes. It deals with planning new projects and improving existing ones.

The primary objective of the Energy Manager is to reduce Energy and Water consumption and Carbon Emissions by 5% per year over the next 3 years.

An energy manager evaluates energy use and designs energy programs that increase efficiency and reduce energy-related costs. They redesign processes, retrofit buildings and equipment, and plan energy-related systems for new projects.

Energy managers may also be responsible for improving the efficiency of water systems. Some energy managers specialize in certain systems or aspects of energy management such as heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems or lighting.

Renewable Energy is one of the deep concerns of the Energy Conservation Manager


Principal Accountabilities


·         Responsibilities

1.     An Energy Manager monitors and manages the energy efficiency of a facility or organization. He implements conservation measures, monitors energy consumption, assesses business decisions for sustainability and seeks out opportunities for increasing energy efficiency.

2.     Setting targets for energy reduction.

3.     Develop, coordinate, and implement strategies and policies to reduce energy consumption.

4.     Scouting for new technologies and best practices to achieve the goals.

5.     Track energy consumption and Reduce energy intensity by 10 % for two Years.

6.     Encourage the use of renewable and sustainable energy resources within an organization or community and raise the profile of energy conservation.

7.     Develop solutions for carbon and freon management.

8.     create policies and systems for buying energy and helping with contract negotiations.

9.     Provide technical and practical advice/action and offer training on energy efficiency.

10.  keep accurate records and regularly collect energy monitoring data.

11.  Carry out site inspections and energy surveys.

12.  Benchmark energy consumptions against best practice guidelines.

13.  Drive a team of 24 / 7 operators for the automated control system.

14.  Propose an electronic system to monitor and control the MEP systems inside the buildings (SCADA, Command control system).

15.  Monitoring and verification of energy flows.

16.  Training and communications with all staff, subcontractors to implements the required energy efficiency.

17.  Carbon footprint reduction initiatives.

18.  Prepare reports summarizing energy usage.

19.  Verify improvements, Repair & correct significant deviation in energy consumption.

20.  Create training guides for company managers regarding energy consumption.

21.  Define, implement, and deliver effective energy and water usage monitoring and reduction plan, working closely with internal and external partners to ensure successful outcomes.

22.  Be responsible for promoting awareness of the Property’s Carbon Management Plan and Energy policy, promote best practices in all activities, and ensure compliance with current and emerging energy and environmental legislation.

23.  Work in close consultation with our Subcontractors, Operations Manager, Energy Champions and Maintenance Teams ensuring that energy efficiency factors are incorporated into all development planning and operational activities.

24.  Manage the development of the utility metering and monitoring system and ensure its effectiveness in relation to targeting and reducing energy consumption and in the promotion of stakeholder awareness of energy and water usage

25.  Provide a monthly utility consumption and financial report. Report monthly savings against proposed targets.

26.  Responsible for providing effective service to overall building assets management, control & effective monitoring.

27.  Check and authorize invoices for all utilities and monitor against targets.

28.  Manage the formulation of energy and water forecasts and budgets, setting energy and water projection estimates for each year.

29.  Responsibility for the management of the Electricity, Water, and Gas budget.

30.  Responsible for maximising efficient operation of the gas system, District Cooling system and Solar Energy for Commercial Buildings.

31.  Responsible for the implementation of the Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Study.

32.  To lead on a program of initiatives associated with Energy and Water reduction through behaviour change

33.  Provide monthly reports to Senior Managers.

1.     Maintain standards of safety and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements.

2.     Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace, especially the client personnel.

3.     Responsible for maintaining department and personal key performance indicators



1.      Support all Operators to be fully competent in all aspects of their role including responding to alarms and carrying out remote fixes.

2.     Implement energy-saving initiatives by additional monitoring or modification of control systems

3.     Maximize all opportunities to learn from colleagues and day to day situations


´╗┐Minimum Requirement


·        BSC of Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), Master\'s degree is an advantage.

·        Extensive experience of the Energy Conservation, Facilities Management, operation and maintenance of Building Management system and its components.

·        Certified DEWA Engineer, Certified SDACA system (Siemens, or ABB)

·        Experience of using the SCADA, BMS for reporting and energy reduction

·        Extensive knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems.



·         Knowledge of high tension, ELV systems and HVAC system.

·          Computer literacy: MS windows applications (word processing, excel, spreadsheets)

·         CAFM system knowledge.
