Principal Accountabilities

  1. Analyse financial data in order to prepare financial reports and budget forecasts as per stipulated deadlines.
  2. Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities.
  3. Liaise with Head Office Finance & external auditor to ensure all accounts are audited on time and according to IFRS.
  4. Monitoring and reporting of daily cash position to ensure that cash at hand is sufficient to meet the needs of the business.
  5. Work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure that 100% sales are reported through the EmTrip system immediately after the transaction. Report to the General Manager any instances where sales have not bed reported correctly and on-time.
  6. Report any irregularities to the General Manager and refer to Internal Audit where necessary.
  7. Review of payments and other financial documents ensuring adequate supporting documents and analysis prior final signature.
  8. Manage the procurement process (prepared LPO, follow-up invoice, payment and delivery).
  9. Ensure the finance team operates as per the head office guidelines, policies, and standards.
  10. Work with the shared service unit, other financial departments and third parties to implement improved controls and processes. 
  11. Managing the day to day tasks assigned by the General Manager to achieve department goals and targets
  12. Review & approval of all Payment Vouchers & Journal Vouchers
  13. Manage account receivables adhering to the agreed escalation process and reporting to Credit Control.
  14. Generate and interpret financial records and statements for management.
  15. Prepare & maintain prepaid expense schedule & make closing entry with reconciliation.
  16. Prepare JVs for leave salary, gratuity & staff air ticket.
  17. Prepare Entry, reconciliation of SOA for monthly payroll of AMT.
  18. Responsible for VAT (Checking, reconciliation & Filing of return).
  19. Manage the fortnightly closing of eTravel 2000.
  20. Prepare Monthly financial report along with variance analysis versus budget and previous year.
  21. Report eTravel 2000 back-office issues to Info Dynamics.
  22. Submit on-time quarterly Balanced Scorecard KPI results to Strategy and attend review.
  23. Project-lead finance-related commercial projects aimed at improving the Al Majid Travel commercial operations e.g. Easy Payment Plans, Mail Order CC acceptance, Virtual Credit Card Payments, JAM Staff Instalment Plan
  24. Lead, coach, mentor and support the Al Majid Team of Accountants.

Minimum Requirement

·         Minimum Educational, Professional and Vocational qualifications - Bachelor in finance and accounting

·         Minimum years of relevant work experience - 5-7 years, preferably in the Travel Industry

·         Level and type of behavioural and functional competencies required - Team player, control oriented

·         Good command of written and spoken English.
