Hyundai UAE Powers Abu Dhabi’s Green Future with Hydrogen Buses

Juma Al Majid Co – Hyundai UAE is thrilled to announce the successful delivery and operation of two cutting-edge Hyundai Hydrogen Fuel Cell Buses as part of Abu Dhabi’s Green Bus Programme.
Marking a significant milestone, the first buses were delivered in November 2024, and both the Hyundai Elec City FC and Universe FC models are now seamlessly integrated into Abu Dhabi’s public transport network. These state-of-the-art hydrogen buses are actively serving passengers on dedicated routes: Elec City FC on City Route 65 and Universe FC on Regional Route 160.

The Green Bus Programme, spearheaded by ITC, is a forward-thinking initiative to evaluate and implement hydrogen and electric-powered buses in Abu Dhabi. By incorporating city and regional routes, the programme ensures environmentally friendly solutions tailored to the local climate. It also fosters the development of Emirati expertise through specialised training programs in hydrogen and electric vehicle technologies, including practical experiences abroad.
